Summer Race Teams
Ages 8–18
Our Summer Sailing Teams are the perfect next step for sailors who have completed a camp and are ready for more time on the water. Teams begin the second week of July and continue through the week of August 28, ending just before Labor Day. Sailors can join at any time throughout the summer!
We offer two age-based teams—one for younger sailors and one for teens—making it easy to find the right fit. Whether you're new to racing or already experienced, our supportive coaching staff will help you build confidence, refine your skills, and have fun out on the water.
Youth Summer Race Team (Ages 8–12)
Perfect for sailors graduating from Learn to Sail or Adventure Camp, the Youth Race Team introduces racers to Opti-style regattas, sailing in a team setting, and having fun while learning the basics of sailboat racing. Sailors will develop boat handling, learn racing rules and strategy, and gain experience on short courses and longer races alike.
No prior racing experience is required—just a willingness to try something new!
Teen Summer Race Team (Ages 13–18)
The Teen Race Team trains in FJs and C420s and is a great option for middle and high school sailors looking to stay active over the summer. Practices focus on boat handling, race strategy, teamwork, and tactical awareness. Sailors are placed into boats and pairings based on skill and experience, and we welcome both experienced racers and those new to team sailing.
This is a great way to stay sharp ahead of the fall high school season or to explore racing for the first time.
Practice Schedule
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 5:00–7:30 PM Practices run from the second week of July through the week of August 28. Sailors should arrive by 4:30 PM to rig and be ready to launch on time.
